It's cool, it's hot.... It's Intermot! Live from Intermot Motorcycle Show 2018

Right now, I'm buzzing. I'm at the Intermot Motorcycle Show 2018, but I'm not buzzing for reasons you may think.

It's quite quiet, albeit trade day. There are fewer halls with product to see.

Why I'm buzzing is simple; this year focuses on quality, over and above quantity. Yes, it's the way things are going (see my previous blog for more insight), but I recently came to a realisation that this isn't necessarily a bad thing.

You see, dear reader, there's a really healthy undercurrent of bike fettling / building going on, the scale of which even I couldn't accurately determine. Evidence of this you'll see in this blog's images. It's thrilling, buzzing and visceral. It's addictive, fascinating and growing. It is, and this adjective sums it up the most, EXCITING.

Yes, it's my job to know what's being launched by the major manufacturers, but there actually wasn't much of any notable interest. To cite an example, I remember the Suzuki Katana. A lot of you do too, I imagine. Suzuki just launched their 'new' version of this, using one of the larger motors from their existing line up. It was so mind-bendingly boring, I had to physically pop outside for an hour to watch some grass grow. I then spent another hour counting the seconds of the phased traffic lights at the local crossroads. What a wasteful exercise Suzuki; you can do so much better.

So, enjoy what you see in these images. Projects are more exciting year by year. There's far more of a variety here than expected and by the Power of Greyskull, it's as promising as hell.
